In a press conference given in the Hotel Continental in Mojacar the production company 'Pequeño Produce' unveiled their next project, due to start filming soon in Mojacar, called 'El enigma de Walt Disney'. The film is the brainchild of Manuel Perez and will be directed by Eduardo Soler, whose short film 'Valkirias' was nominated for a Goya (Spain's equivalent of the Oscars) this year. After filming in Mojacar the crew will move on to Valencia, Barcelona, Chicago and New York. Manuel Perez said that the end of the film, which will be documentary in nature, was as yet unknown as they expected to make discoveries during the filming that would affect the content.
The rumour that Walt Disney was born in Mojacar has existed for years now and it is this idea that the producers of this film want to convert from legend to reality. They say that they have several documents which have never before been made public and that they hope during the project to visit the F.B.I. archives to find declassified material, amongst which they hope to find proof of Walt Disney's Spanish nationality and more specifically his origins in Mojacar.
